One building, one crew, since 1952
Guy's Tire Service has been on 808 Cottage Street since 1952. No franchise, no corporate service menu, no district manager telling the counter what to push this quarter. We sell tires and batteries, we install them right, and we take care of them after.
Why we exist
Gus spent eleven years working the back of a national chain in Ashland. He watched customers get sold road-hazard packages they could not use, get quoted one number on the phone and another at the register, and wait four hours for a rotation because corporate cut a bay.
He bought this building in 1952 with two lifts and a used balancer. The deal he made with himself was simple: quote the out-the-door price, keep the popular sizes in stock, and never sell somebody something their car does not need.
Most of our customers came from somebody else telling them to come here. That is the whole marketing plan, and it has worked since 1952.
Four reasons we're not the big box
The owner is on the floor
Gus writes tickets, answers the phone and still mounts tires when the board fills up. Nobody here works on commission.
No junk upsells
We do not sell fuel-system flushes to people who came in for a flat. If your pads have 6mm left, we write it down and tell you to come back in a year.
Same day on most sizes
We carry deep stock in the sizes northwest Ohio actually drives. About 90% of the time, the tire you need is 40 feet from your car.
We stand behind the mount
Vibration, a leaking stem, a wheel weight that flew off — bring it back and we make it right, no argument and no charge.
